As the subject of this post suggests, we can see Shea Stadium and the soon-to-be home of the Mets, Citi Field, in the distance from our respectable accomodations here in Queens.

Mad props go out to Steve B. for switching our room from smoking to non-smoking, but I’m sad to say he was unable to increase the size of our beds. I love these guys, but if I wake up to someone spooning me, there’s going to be trouble.

I’m encouraged, though, by talking to people we’ve met on airplanes and through this blog, by the fact that a lot of people are using the power of the road trip to see the country. We met a few people on the airplane (coming from as far away as Windsor, Canada) that are in New York to see a couple games, and I’m sure we’ll run across a few more.

Good morning!

We are coming to you live from Detroit Metro Airport on a gloomy, rainy Saturday morning. Judging by the hour-by-hour forecast, there’s a chance of rain both days in New York, so we’re hoping Mother Nature holds off so we can enjoy some baseball.
